Test Study of the Bridge Cable Corrosion Protection Mechanism Based on Impressed Current Cathodic Protection

The cable system is an important bearing element of a bridge with stay cables or slings and matter major concern in the safety structure. Bridge are vulnerable to corrosion induced by leakage soaking during their service life. To solve this problem, based on idea proactive control means impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) cables, study designs develops ICCP device for protection. In study, accelerated test was conducted steel wires inside under acid rain conditions. behavior analyzed reveal mechanism ICCP. results show that system, generated more negative voltage may improve efficiency protection, but excessively cause hydrogen embrittlement wire due overprotection. rational range ?1.13 V ?1.15 set as result overall consideration. Within range, subject joint sacrificial anode (SACP). Corrosive products can delay development certain degree; SACP galvanized coat reduces gradually development; increases gradually. transformed from using both into mainly current.
